Baton Rouge Metropolitan Planning Organization
Federal Certification Review 2020
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) will be conducting a joint certification review of the planning process for the Baton Rouge Urbanized Area in the next couple of months. The Capital Regional Planning Commission (CRPC) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) designated for East Baton Rouge Parish, West Baton Rouge Parish, Iberville Parish, Ascension Parish and Livingston Parish. A certification review is one of several methods to assess the quality of a local metropolitan area’s cooperative, continuing, and comprehensive planning process.
Please watch the video below to understand the metropolitan planning process and the purpose of the joint certification review.
After watching the presentation, we encourage you to submit any written comments. You can mail your comments to: 5304 Flanders Drive, Suite A, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70808, Attn: Baton Rouge Certification Review, or by e-mail at louisiana.fhwa@dot.gov.
A public listening session will also be held at a date when the general public can provide feedback or written comments to FHWA staff.
The comments received will be summarized and included in the report from this review.
Comments are considered while FHWA and FTA evaluate the metropolitan transportation planning process for the area.
