Vision Green 2050 Comprehensive Climate Action Plan
The final Vision Green 2050 Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) has officially been submitted to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on December 1. This milestone reflects months of technical analysis, community engagement, and collaboration across the Capital Region.
The CCAP outlines a roadmap to reducing pollution, strengthening community resilience, and supporting a healthier, more affordable, and more livable future for the Baton Rouge region.
What’s in the Final Plan
A full greenhouse gas inventory and reference scenarios for the region, showing where emissions come from across six sectors: transportation, buildings, electricity generation, waste, industry, and agricultural and natural lands.
Multiple low-carbon scenarios that demonstrate how emissions could be reduced between today and 2050.
Measures to reduce pollution that can be implemented by local governments, businesses, institutions, and community members.
Cost and economic impact analysis, including what upfront investments are needed and what the potential cost savings are from taking action today.
Community benefit insights, highlighting ways to improve air quality and health outcomes, expand workforce opportunities, and reduce energy costs for residents.
Thank you to everyone who shared ideas, comments, and expertise throughout this process!
